As a System Administrator the candidate would be responsible of deployment, maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems running on the Linux or Windows operating systems. He/she will work closely with other members of the IT team to support the DGs technology infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux and Windows servers and workstations.
2. Updating/patching systems and applications with bug fixes, security upgrades or new releases.
3. Performing system backups and recovery.
4. Monitoring system performance and ensuring system security.
5. Maintaining network servers such as file, DHCP, DNS, proxies, etc.
6. Troubleshooting any reported problems and responding to system-related queries.
7. Documenting the configuration of the system and the procedures for its use.
8. Scripting and light programming to automate tasks.
9. Working on system failures immediately to ensure quick turnaround time and system availability.
Required Skills & Experience:
10. At least 3 years of experience as a Linux and Windows System Administrator.
11. Experience with Linux-based operating systems (e.g. RedHat, Ubuntu, Debian, etc.).
12. Experience with Windows Servers.
13. Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, KVM, etc.).
14. Experience with container and container orchestration technologies (Docker, Podman, etc.).
15. Strong understanding of network protocols and concepts (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
16. Experience with security best practices, including encryption technologies, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
17. Experience with deployment and configuration automation systems (Ansible, Puppet,...) and scripting e.g. Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc.
18. Experience with database systems (Oracle DB, MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
19. Understanding of version control systems, preferably Git.
20. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Nice to Have :
21. Experience with cloud technologies.
Qualifications & Certifications:
22. Fluent in both English/French both written and oral.
23. An ITILV4 certification is a prerequisite (we provide the opportunity to obtain the certification prior to the commencement date).
