Job Summary
Maintains general ledger entries and schedules including Bank Reconciliations to support the preparation of the Maritime Capital Limited Financial Statements. The incumbent will also lead the preparation of Off Balance sheet records and client cash.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Prepares and post monthly Bank Reconciliations and month end journals
2. Maintains the general ledger and reconciles monthly in addition to Client Accounts
3. Keep a track of Client Cash outstanding and their Investments
4. Update relevant schedules monthly in a timely, complete, and accurate manner
5. Process accounts payable and handles account inquiries from internal and external sources
6. Work with Auditors and assist with the audit process
7. Maintain an orderly filing system for all accounting documents, both physical and digital for audit trail purposes
Secondary Responsibilities
1. Assist with special exercises and reports organized by the Unit
2. Any project or activity as assigned by the CEO, Maritime Capital Limited
Qualifications
Education
Minimum 5 CSEC passes inclusive of Grade 1 or 2 in Mathematics and English A and
5 CAPE passes (full certificate) or an equivalent diploma or professional certificate
Level 2 ACCA (or pursuing)
Experience
Minimum two (2) years Financial Services Industry experience
Industry experience would be an asset
