The Strategic Procurement & Buying entails focusing on optimizing procurement processes and managing supplier relationships for various engineering, production, packaging, construction, and capital service activities.
Responsibilities include:Sourcing new suppliers, negotiating terms, and maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers to ensure maximum value and reduced risk for the sitesBeing responsible for reviewing and managing the procurement schedule, conducting bid analysis, processing purchase orders, and resolving invoice queriesPreparing regular reports on purchasing activities for project teams, collaborating with other teams to streamline procurement processes, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and eliminate wasteful processesContributing to cost savings through competitive bidding and market trend analysis, and developing and improving internal customer procurement relationships to drive continuous improvement or mitigate risks and costsWorking with the global Category Strategy Manager (CSM) to develop and implement category strategies
Qualifications:
You hold a Bachelors or Masters degree or equivalent in fields such as Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related disciplineBuying experience is required, preferably within the pharmaceutical or life sciences sectorEssential competencies include strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively manage supplier relationships, and robust analytical skills to interpret market data and performance metricsYou are highly organized with proven proficiency in managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously, and a track record of meeting deadlinesExperience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is crucial for managing procurement processesAn understanding of the pharmaceutical industry regulatory environment, including compliance, healthcare laws, and ethical marketing practices, is also vitalFluency in both English and Dutch
