IT Security Engineer.
Mission context
The mission takes place within an IT security team responsible for operating, maintaining, and continuously improving security solutions, with a strong focus on the Microsoft Security ecosystem. The consultant works closely with IT colleagues, the CISO, and external partners to detect, analyze, mitigate, and structurally address security risks across the IT landscape. The role combines operational security, incident response, threat hunting, and governance-oriented follow up. On-site presence is required 2 to 3 days per week at the headquarters in Aartselaar. Role Description As a Medior IT Security Engineer, you are responsible for the day-to-day managementof security controls, active monitoring of threats and vulnerabilities, and continuous improvement of the security posture. A solid system engineering background is expected to correctly assess events and incidents, propose improvements, and implement approved security measures.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations (Microsoft Stack)
• Daily operational management of Microsoft Security components:
o Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
o Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
o Microsoft Defender for Identity.
• Execute and follow security checklists.
• Analyze security events:
o Active follow-up of alerts, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
o Formulate concrete improvement proposals.
• Create, assign, and follow up security-related tasks and tickets.
Identity & Access Management
• Contribute to IAM activities:
o Microsoft Entra ID.
o Conditional Access.
o Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
o Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
Incident Response & Threat Hunting
• Actively perform and follow up on:
o Security incident response.
o Threat hunting activities.
• Identify, manage, and document security incidents according to defined processes.
Security Governance & Compliance
• Ensure security controls are present, correct, and well documented.
• Follow up on:
o Device compliance .
o Microsoft Secure Score.
o Asset inventory.
o Lifecycle management of systems and applications.
o Security policies, processes, and procedures.
Continuous Improvement & Advisory
• Track new developments in the Microsoft ecosystem from a security perspective.
• Evangelize security policies and act as a security advisor towards other teams.
• Support the implementation of approved security improvements.

• Identity & Access Management (Advanced).
