About the Role
We're partnering with a fast-scaling fintech company in West Flanders that is redefining how businesses interact with financial technology. With strong growth across the Benelux region and an expanding SaaS-driven platform, the company is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its high-performing finance team.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll work at the intersection of finance, technology, and data—collaborating closely with product, commercial, and operations teams in a modern, tech-first environment.
What You'll Do
* Take full ownership of general ledger accounting for one or more Belgian entities
* Lead month-end and year-end closings, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
* Prepare financial statements in line with BE GAAP
* Manage VAT filings and statutory compliance, including fintech-specific and digital services considerations
* Act as the key contact for auditors and tax advisors
* Support budgeting and forecasting, partnering with finance and business stakeholders
* Drive process improvements, automation, and internal controls
* Contribute to ERP and financial systems optimization (integrations with billing, payments, and subscription platforms)
* Deliver financial insights and performance analysis to support strategic decisions
* Support and enhance revenue recognition processes, particularly within SaaS and subscription-based models
What You Bring
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
* 5+ years of experience, ideally in fintech, tech, SaaS, or a fast-growing international environment
* Strong knowledge of BE GAAP (IFRS is a plus)
* Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Exact)
* Solid understanding of revenue recognition, especially in subscription-based environments
* Fluent in Dutch and English (French is a plus)
* A hands-on, proactive mindset with the ability to work independently
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
