Job Purpose
As a Combine Software Engineer, you will develop application software for our combine harvester products, specifying, designing, and testing vehicle application and control software in accordance with CNH coding standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Define the control system software requirements, specification, and structure for vehicle applications
* Maintain, archive, and control application source code and manage software releases
* Implement software architecture and strategies, including closed-loop control algorithms, user interface, and related control logic for the complex product offering
* Perform unit and system integration testing with hardware and software via simulation and on-board executions
* Define and execute test scenarios to verify implemented control/monitoring strategies
* Support Product Validation and Verification Engineers during functional and performance testing
* Analyze and interpret field data to improve feature development and troubleshooting (e.g., CAN traces)
* Produce documentation supporting design, implementation, and test activities
Experience Required
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or similar engineering discipline
* 1–3 years of embedded software development experience in C and C#
* Experience with industry coding standards such as MISRA‑C
* Experience with CAN, LIN protocols and diagnostic tools such as Vector CANalyzer
* Problem‑solving skills and experience
* Ability to interpret and implement vehicle networking protocols
* Proficiency in English, written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with MATLAB®, Simulink/Stateflow and automatic code generation
* Experience with code debuggers, code analysis, and memory management
* Experience with automated testing (Python, CAPL, etc.)
* Experience with SAE J1939, CAN, UDS
* Experience with electro‑hydraulic or vehicle control systems for on/off‑highway vehicle systems
* Knowledge of SW engineering tools such as SVN, Polarion, Azure, Git
* Technical leadership and organization/control skills
* Experience with network client/server architecture
* Experience with agricultural equipment or machinery
* Team‑oriented collaboration experience
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
