Make your mark for patients
We are looking for an In Vitro Laboratory Scientist who is meticulous, collaborative, and passionate about scientific discovery to join our Non Clinical Safety Evaluation team based out of our campus in Braine L-Alleud, Belgium.
About the Role
You will execute in vitro, histology, and wet laboratory-based activities, designing and planning experiments, processing data, and communicating findings to support UCB's project portfolio. You will work independently and cross-functionally, collaborating closely with senior scientists and pathologists.
Who You'll Work With
You will work with various UCB teams, senior scientists, and pathologists, contributing to project teams and supporting the accurate interpretation of in vitro and histological data.
What You'll Do
* Conduct in vitro experiments to identify potential liabilities in pre-clinical drug development
* Develop, optimize, and validate IHC assays (colorimetric, fluorescent)
* Design experimental setups, organize samples, process and analyze data, and report results
* Execute laboratory activities for the development and optimization of innovative methods and in vitro models
* Ensure ethical and safe conduct of laboratory activities in line with UCB's code of conduct
* Guarantee proper experiment planning and execution, providing technical support as needed
* Communicate effectively and provide regular updates to team meetings
* Participate in drafting SOPs and ensure compliance with internal guidelines
* Maintain accurate documentation of all experimental data and test results
* Establish, verify, validate, and implement procedures and technical protocols
* Organize, store, and manage laboratory reagents and supplies

* Bachelor's degree required; Master's, valued
* Passionate about working in the Lab
* Experience in mammalian cell culture, molecular biology, and biochemical assays
* Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
* Excellent organizational, communication, and scientific writing abilities
* Ability to work independently and rapidly integrate novel technologies
