Overview
You are part of the project team responsible for the design, development, and optimization of electrical systems for our oil-free compressor range. You will participate in all project phases from concept and design to testing and serial production, gaining a complete overview of the product lifecycle. You will select and test electrical components such as motors and variable speed drives, define their functional specifications, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (IEC, UL, CSA, IEEE). You will coordinate the design and release of electrical schematics, bills of material, and wiring diagrams, while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders such as project leaders, design engineers, test engineers, and service teams. You will interact with suppliers to review and validate electrical cabinet designs, follow up on prototyping and qualification testing, and define or fine-tune control parameters and algorithms. Together with the production department, you ensure a smooth transition to manufacturing, resolve any issues related to electrical components or control behavior, and drive continuous improvement. Your expertise also extends beyond design, providing support to the service organization to secure product quality and reliability in the field, sharing best practices, and ensuring knowledge transfer across teams. This position requires a mix of analytical thinking, practical problem-solving, and hands-on collaboration in an environment that values initiative, curiosity, and innovation. You will report to the Project Engineering Team Leader within Oil-Free Air.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent by experience. You are passionate about electrical design with a strong grasp of general engineering principles; experience with AutoCAD Electrical, E-plan, and product development is a plus. You communicate fluently in English across all levels of the organization; knowledge of Dutch is an advantage. You are pragmatic, result-oriented, and an effective communicator who thrives in teamwork while managing priorities independently. You have a hands-on, can-do attitude, embrace continuous improvement, and enjoy tackling complex technical challenges.
