Role Overview
The NOC Engineer ensures the stability, performance, and security of critical network infrastructure. Operating within a 24/7 environment, the role focuses on real‑time monitoring, incident response, and operational support for large‑scale enterprise or service‑provider networks in Brussels.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor network, server, and application performance using enterprise monitoring tools.
* Detect, analyse, and resolve incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid service restoration.
* Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or vendor support when required.
* Perform routine maintenance, updates, and configuration changes on network devices.
* Maintain accurate documentation, including network diagrams, incident reports, and change records.
* Support planned changes, deployments, and infrastructure upgrades.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across Belgium and Europe.
* Ensure compliance with security standards and operational procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong understanding of IP networking, routing, switching, VLANs, and VPNs.
* Hands‑on experience with Cisco or similar network equipment.
* Familiarity with firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Check Point) and network security concepts.
* Experience with monitoring platforms (e.g., SolarWinds, Zabbix, Nagios, Splunk).
* Basic scripting knowledge (Python or Bash) is an advantage.
* Ability to work in a 24/7 shift environment, including nights and weekends.
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
Languages
* English required, French or Dutch strongly preferred due to the Brussels environment.
