Your new role
As an IT Support Officer, you’ll be part of a close-knit IT team based in Zaventem, working alongside two other IT Officers and reporting to the IT Manager. Your mission? Go beyond basic helpdesk tasks and provide hands-on, first and second-line support with a proactive mindset.Your responsibilities will include:
1. Troubleshooting hardware and software issues (Windows, Open Office, email clients, etc.).
2. Managing user access via Active Directory and handling asset management.
3. Preparing laptops and equipment for new employees (onboarding).
4. Supporting networked devices such as printers and barcode scanners across various sites.
5. Acting as a field technician when needed: visiting branches to resolve issues with scanners, switches, or other infrastructure.
6. Collaborating with system engineers for more complex issues and contributing to internal IT projects.
7. Using Jira for ticketing and task planning.
This is not a passive support role — you’ll be expected to take initiative, ask the right questions, and dig deeper before escalating.
Your profile
We’re looking for someone with a passion for IT and a hands-on attitude. You’re curious, eager to learn, and not afraid to get involved in both technical and user-facing tasks.To thrive in this role, you should have:
8. Fluency in French with a good level of Dutch.
9. At least 3 years of relevant experience in IT support (beyond basic helpdesk).
10. A Bachelor’s degree in IT is preferred, but equivalent experience is welcome.
11. Solid knowledge of Windows environments, office applications, and basic networking (TCP/IP).
12. Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira).
13. A proactive, customer-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
14. A valid driver’s license (you’ll be visiting other sites occasionally).
