Head of Product Compliance – Belgian AgeTech Scale-Up
We are excited to support our client, Nobi, in their search for a Head of Product Compliance to join their dynamic global team at their headquarters in Antwerp, Belgium.
Nobi is a fast-growing Belgian AgeTech scale-up on a mission to help senior citizens enjoy life with peace of mind. Their smart lamp detects falls and helps prevent them. As Head of Product Compliance, you'll lead Nobi's global compliance efforts, and you will report directly to the CTO. You'll design and oversee compliance frameworks that meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. This role is crucial for supporting Nobi's growth and ensuring their processes meet the highest ethical and operational standards. Ideally, you'll be based at their HQ in Antwerp, with the flexibility to work remotely part of the time.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance program, including policies, procedures, and best practices across all departments.
* Monitor and ensure compliance with industry standards and legal requirements (SOC 2, HIPAA, NIS2, ISO 27001, and future possibilities like ISO 13485).
* Conduct risk assessments and develop corrective action plans.
* Oversee internal and external audits.
* Provide expert guidance and training to employees on compliance matters.
* Develop and implement processes for reporting and investigating compliance issues.
* Stay updated with regulatory changes & industry standards, adapting policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
* Prepare and present compliance reports to executive management.
* Work with the development team to ensure technical solutions meet compliance requirements.
* Support continuous improvement of our compliance framework.
What you'll need to succeed:
* Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field.
* 7+ years of experience in product compliance or risk management, ideally within tech or healthcare industries.
* Strong knowledge of SOC 2, HIPAA, NIS2, and/or ISO 27001. Familiarity with ISO 13485 is a plus.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to details and a proactive approach to managing risks.
* Strong communication & leadership skills, able to educate and engage cross-functional teams in compliance matters.
* Experience with compliance tools, reporting software and risk management systems (e.g. Vanta).
Nice to Have's:
* Advanced degree or certification in Compliance (e.g. CCEP).
* Experience with GDPR and data protection regulations, particularly as they apply to tech and healthcare.
* Experience with compliance for IoT and hardware devices (CE, FCC, UL certifications).
