Freelance Electrical Engineer (Contract)
Start Date: February - March
Location: Site‑based with hybrid flexibility
Contract Length: 12 months, with potential extension
Role Summary
A major multi‑technical engineering contractor is seeking a Freelance Electrical Engineer to support a new project mobilising in March. The engineer will join an established delivery team working across electrical building services, installation oversight, and commissioning activities within a fast‑paced M&E environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce and review electrical designs, schematics, and technical documentation
* Support installation teams and ensure compliance with project and regulatory standards
* Coordinate with mechanical, controls, and project management teams
* Conduct site inspections, testing, and commissioning
* Troubleshoot electrical systems and propose practical engineering solutions
* Ensure all work aligns with safety, quality, and compliance requirements
Required Experience
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
* Strong background in building services, industrial systems, or M&E delivery
* Proven experience working with medium‑voltage (MV) systems
* Fluent Dutch speaker (essential for site coordination and documentation)
* Familiarity with electrical regulations and standards
* Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
* Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
Desirable
* Experience on large‑scale commercial, industrial, or public‑sector projects
* Knowledge of automation, BMS, or energy‑efficient systems
* Competence with CAD or electrical design tools
