Climate Change Consultant
We are seeking a Climate Change Consultant to lead our climate change projects from initiation to completion. The ideal candidate will have a solid project management background, exceptional analytical thinking, and the ability to transform data into practical recommendations.
* The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic guidance on climate change adaptation and mitigation aligned with business and regulatory priorities.
* They will design and execute climate action plans tailored to clients' objectives and industry standards.
* Conduct thorough climate risk assessments and audits to pinpoint risks and recommend innovative solutions.
* Collaborate across departments to embed climate considerations into core operational strategies.
* Mentor junior team members and promote a culture of learning and professional development.
* Monitor developments in climate policy and science, sharing relevant insights with the team and clients.
* Contribute to business growth by identifying opportunities and expanding the client base.
* Foster long-term client relationships, delivering customized and effective climate solutions.
* Represent the organization at conferences and events to increase visibility and credibility in the industry.
* Work closely with strategic partners to ensure cohesive execution of shared goals and projects.
* Support international initiatives by collaborating with global teams and stakeholders.
Key Qualifications include:
* In Belgium: fluency in Dutch or French and professional proficiency in English. In the Netherlands: fluency in Dutch and English is essential.
* Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Climate Science, Environmental Sciences, or related disciplines.
* Hands-on experience in climate change consulting with a solid project management background.
* Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and deliver measurable results.
* Strong analytical thinking and the ability to transform data into practical recommendations.
* Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
* Passionate about sustainability and committed to climate action.
* Proven business development experience and client relationship management capabilities.
* Skilled at building and nurturing partnerships and collaborations.
* Experience working in international and multicultural teams.
* Expertise in carbon footprinting, greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory creation, Science Based Targets (SBTi), climate risk analysis, decarbonization strategies, and CDP reporting.
