Our client, a well-established and dynamic company located in the Mechelen area, is seeking a Legal Counsel with strong expertise in Commercial Law to support and guide its growing business. Job Description
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts (e.g. sales, purchasing, services, distribution, licensing, etc.)
* Advise internal departments on legal aspects of commercial operations, risk management, and compliance
* Provide legal guidance on general business law matters, including corporate housekeeping
* Support in real estate matters such as lease agreements and property transactions (as needed)
* Liaise with external counsel on specialized legal topics or disputes
* Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, ensuring legal risks are identified and managed
* Contribute to the development and improvement of internal legal policies, templates, and procedures
The Successful Applicant
* Master's degree in Law (Belgian university)
* Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in commercial law, ideally gained in a law firm and/or in-house legal department
* Strong drafting and negotiation skills in both Dutch and English; knowledge of French is a plus
* Solid knowledge of general business law; experience in real estate is an asset
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with both legal and non-legal stakeholders
* Pragmatic, solution-oriented, and business-minded
