COMMISSIONING ENGINEER - EAST FLANDERS (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITIONRole OverviewAs a Commissioning Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring that newly installed or upgraded mechanical and electromechanical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications. You will be part of the team responsible for bridging the gap between design, construction, and operations by testing, verifying, and fine-tuning systems before handover to clients.This role is ideal for early-career engineers who want hands-on exposure to complex projects in sectors such as energy, industrial facilities, infrastructure, and manufacturing. You will gain practical experience in system integration, troubleshooting, and quality assurance, while working closely with multidisciplinary teams. In addition to technical activities, you will develop strong project coordination skills and interact with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.The position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong engineering foundation, problem-solving ability, and the flexibility to adapt to dynamic site environments. A willingness to travel and spend time on project sites is essential.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in planning and executing commissioning activities, including the development of commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules.Carry out functional, performance, and safety tests on mechanical and electromechanical systems (e.g., pumps, piping, HVAC, rotating equipment, hydraulics, and control systems).Support troubleshooting and system adjustments to achieve optimal performance.Monitor equipment operation and verify compliance with technical specifications, design intent, and regulatory standards.Prepare accurate records of test results, commissioning reports, and quality documentation.Collaborate with design, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless transition from installation to operation.Provide technical support during client meetings, inspections, and acceptance testing.Contribute to risk assessments, safety checks, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements.Continuously identify opportunities to improve commissioning processes and project efficiency.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field.0–5 years of relevant experience in commissioning, testing, or system integration (internships, trainee programs, or project-based experience also considered).Knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, pumps, piping, rotating equipment, hydraulics) and/or electromechanical systems.Familiarity with commissioning workflows, documentation practices, and quality assurance standards (preferred but not required).Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities.Willingness to travel and work at project sites as required.The Offer:A permanent, full-time employment contractA salary & benefits package commensurate with experiencePlease send over your CV to tom.walker@vividresourcing.com or call me on +32 (0) 3 318 00 74.
