Chief Accountant
Location: Sint-Niklaas
Your Role & Responsibilities
As Chief Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of our operations in Belgium. Your responsibilities will include:
* Overseeing the documentation and financial control of accounting records (approval workflows, accuracy, reliability, etc.)
* Ensuring timely and accurate data entry into our ERP system (Business Central/ Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Navision)
* Recording and reconciling business transactions
* Monitoring and applying relevant tax laws and accounting standards (local and IFRS)
* Calculating taxes, charges, and overseeing financial operations
* Managing cash transactions and payroll processes
* Preparing comprehensive financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) in accordance with local standards, IFRS, and Krka Group policies
* Supporting the preparation of consolidation packages and internal reporting
* Leading or participating in annual inventory processes
* Ensuring compliance with transfer pricing policies
* Providing guidance and instructions for monitoring business events and financial procedures
What We Expect
* University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* Proven experience in accounting and finance, preferably in an international environment
* Strong knowledge of local accounting standards, IFRS, payroll, fixed assets, and material management
* Experience with timely and accurate financial reporting
* In-depth understanding of Belgian tax and financial legislation
* Proficiency in ERP systems (Business Central/Navision is a plus)
* Fluency in
Dutch
and
English
(a working knowledge of French at an intermediate level is desirable)
