Legal Director Belgium & Luxembourg will oversee the legal aspects of local commercialization of GSK medicines and vaccines in those countries in order to enable the appropriate strategic and operational legal risk identification and mitigation. Successful candidate will become part of the Country Leadership Team and engage with local sales, marketing, medical and support function organizations as well as working closely within GSK above market Legal teams.Key Responsibilities:Counsel the business on legal, policy, compliance and transactional issues, integrating legal knowledge with a sound business understandingDraft, develop, prepare and execute contracts and other legal documents of legal/strategic/financial/regulatory importance.Review business, scientific, commercial, and sales/marketing documents/communications and advise on appropriate strategy/language to manage legal risk while maximizing business benefit.Anticipate and proactively support the management of legal risks facing the pharmaceutical business in Belgium and Luxembourg.Recommend policies and practices on issues presenting potential legal risk arising from pharmaceutical healthcare activities, and support their development and implementation.Review and interpret pending or new legislation or regulatory rules impacting the pharmaceutical business and advise the business management on appropriate compliance measures.Liaise with other groups within the GSK Legal organisation (such as other lawyers in the Europe Commercial Legal team and lawyers in other parts of GSK Legal Function and other departments (e.g. Compliance, Corporate Risk and Insurance Management, Tax, Finance, Procurement etc.) in coordinating advice that integrates the full range of considerations.Educate client groups within the pharmaceutical healthcare business on legal issues and new developments impacting the businesses.Appropriately identify matters and topics to escalate to and liaise appropriately.Liaise with external law firms on appropriate matters.Provide line management, leadership and support for development of 1 directly reporting employee – Paralegal co-located in Wavre office.Why You?This job will give you the opportunity to develop in a dynamic innovative pharmaceutical environment and deliver significant impact to the company’s operations exercising both professional skills and judgment, as well as business leadership skills.You will be getting significant insight into the underlying business in vast areas as well as interaction with various levels of the organization and company’s internal matrix.Qualifications:University Degree in Law and Belgium Bar of Legal Advisors/Advocates admissionFluency in Dutch/French and English languages.Minimum 5 years legal practice as in-house counsel or external law firm in legal advice to business undertakings.Leadership with strong analytical and strategic thinkingRelationship and stakeholder management, communication skillsAbility to drive partnerships, influence and proactively challenge in a matrix organization with senior leaders.Experience in life-sciences industry legal support will be an additional benefit.#LI-GSKIf you have a disability and require assistance during the course of the selection process, you will have the opportunity to let us know what specific assistance you require in order to make suitable arrangements.Why GSK?Uniting science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together.GSK is a global biopharma company with a special purpose – to unite science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together – so we can positively impact the health of billions of people and deliver stronger, more sustainable shareholder returns – as an organisation where people can thrive.
