Make your mark for patients
We are looking for a Sustainability Lead Manufacturing, Capital Projects who is strategic, influential, and delivery‑oriented to join our BioNexUS Program team, based at our UCB campus located in Braine‑l’Alleud or US-based, Atlanta.
About the role
You are going to shape the environmental sustainability strategy of a new, large‑scale biopharma manufacturing site developed from the ground up. You will embed environmental sustainability into all project phases—from concept to commissioning—while ensuring compliance, quality, safety, and business continuity. You will own the LEED Gold certification strategy, translate sustainability ambitions into concrete design and engineering decisions, and ensure measurable environmental outcomes over the long term.
Who you will work with
You will work at the intersection of engineering, HSE, procurement, facilities, quality, operations, maintenance, and external partners such as LEED consultants. You will collaborate with a geographically split team between Belgium and the US, acting as the central environmental sustainability point of contact across the BioNexUS program while connecting stakeholders and driving alignment on sustainability priorities.
What you will do
1. You will own and execute the LEED Gold certification strategy from design through commissioning.
2. You will translate environmental sustainability goals into engineering specifications, governance, and project decisions.
3. You will act as the environmental voice in project governance and key decision‑making forums.
4. You will coordinate cross‑functional teams to embed “Green by Design” principles across all technical domains.
5. You will define, track, and report environmental KPIs, risks, and program milestones.
6. You will ensure a smooth handover of environmental matters to future Site Technical Services teams.
