Job Description - Roles and Responsibilities
As a Senior Linux Systems Engineer, you will:
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, deployment, network, enterprise architecture, and IT security) on infrastructure and application projects.
* Design and implement Linux-based platforms and containerized environments following DevOps practices.
* Evaluate and introduce new compute and storage solutions to improve infrastructure performance and scalability.
* Perform system operations, including installation, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Linux environments.
* Manage incidents and problems through fault analysis, diagnosis, and resolution, and maintain operational procedures.
* Oversee change and configuration management, including assessment, scheduling, implementation, and review of system changes.
* Design and implement operational management systems and tools (e.g., CMDB, knowledge systems), including proof of concept, testing, and deployment.
* Monitor operational performance through metrics, support capacity and migration planning, and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications:
What would make you a fit for the role:
* Master’s degree with 8+ years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant professional experience.
* Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
* Hands-on experience with automation and scripting, including Ansible, Shell, or Python.
* Experience with system hardening, patching, and vulnerability management, including the use of Red Hat Satellite.
* Solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure environments and virtualization platforms.
* Experience with DevOps practices and container technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes.
* Familiarity with VMware, Nutanix, hyperconverged infrastructure, and cloud or hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, Infrastructure as Code) is considered an advantage.
* Good knowledge of ITIL best practices and fluency in English.
