As our platform grows, we are expanding our engineering team with a Senior Developer who loves solving complex problems, designing elegant systems, and building high-quality software.
Your Impact
As a Senior Developer, you will help shape the technical foundation of Docbyte Vault.
You’ll work closely with our CTO to design and build:
* high-performance backend services
* secure and scalable APIs
* data structures for long-term preservation
* workflows for timestamping, integrity checks and retention
* features used by Europe’s most regulated industries
This is a role with real autonomy, architectural influence, and end-to-end ownership.
What You’ll Do
* Develop backend or fullstack features for Docbyte Vault
* Contribute to architecture alongside the CTO
* Improve performance, security and reliability
* Write clean, testable, maintainable code
* Mentor other developers and raise engineering standards
* Work with the Product Owner to translate requirements into clear technical deliverables
* Collaborate with QA and DevOps to strengthen the CI/CD pipeline
* Research new technologies that can improve our product offering
Who You Are
* 5+ years experience as a backend or fullstack developer
* Strong in Java
* Experience with REST APIs, databases (MongoDB preferred), CI/CD, Docker
* You enjoy diving into complex systems and designing elegant solutions
* You can think long-term while remaining pragmatic
* You communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating with product and engineering
* You are fluent in English (Dutch is a strong plus)
Nice-to-have:
* Experience with cryptography, integrity, or digital preservation
* Experience in regulated environments (finance, healthcare, pharma, insurance)
* Familiarity with distributed systems or event-driven architectures
