About the role
We are looking for a Head of Production Unit who will play a key operational role in the launch phase of Mobius Benelux. This position is suited for someone ready to work hands-on in the field, supported by one operator and the One Planet Studio team. The goal is to build the strong foundations of an efficient and scalable industrial structure.
Mobius specializes in the production of reconditioned building materials.
We position ourselves as a key player in reducing waste, limiting raw material use, and cutting carbon emissions in the construction sector through reuse.
Mobius designs and implements the processes necessary to place reused construction products back on the market. After a research phase for a given product, Mobius develops the technical production line needed to bring it to life. That’s where you come in.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Phase 1: Setup the production unit
1. Launch and management of the production unit
* Set up our first raised flooring reconditioning unit, both technically and organizationally.
* Define and implement production and logistics processes by actively working in the field.
* Participate directly in day-to-day operations: material sorting, handling, quality control, loading, etc.
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and delivery standards.
* Establish a lean, agile, and pragmatic production system suited to a startup environment.
2. Manual work and field engagement
* Be physically present on-site in Brussels every day, actively working alongside the team.
* Be hands-on: this role involves handling tools, moving materials, organizing the workshop, and stepping in wherever needed.
* Lead by example to inspire and structure a cohesive, reliable, and impact-driven field team.
3. Team management and organisation
* Recruit and manage a small operational team (operators, handlers…).
* Train team members in best practices and the circular logic that defines Mobius Benelux.
* Implement structured tracking and reporting systems.
4. Logistics coordination and operational follow-up
* Organize the reception, sorting, storage, and transformation of materials recovered from construction sites.
* Manage regulatory documentation related to transport and traceability.
* Coordinate with our logistics and technical partners.
WHAT WILL YOU BRING
You are passionate about:
* Sustainability – passion to fight for decarbonization
* Construction / infrastructure (as this is your main client market)
* Hands-on work in close-knit industrial settings.
You have following competences:
* Strong organizational and operational management skills.
* Proven ability to set up and lead a production unit and field teams.
* Experience managing projects in construction, logistics, or production sectors.
* Analytical mindset with a drive for process optimization.
* Comfort operating in the fast-changing, uncertain environment of a startup.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities effectively
* Fluency in French and/or Dutch; English is a plus.
* Knowledge of safety standards relating to worksites and transport (Bonus: having a VOL-VCA certificate; BA4 or 5 )
* Keen interest in circular economy approaches, particularly re-use.
* Ability to learn and integrate a variety of content quickly.
* A logical understanding of the technical and logistical aspects of materials chains.
* Ability to work independently, with occasional support.
* Good problem-solving skills to deal with complex situations.
* Interpersonal skills and ability to listen to develop professional relationships based on trust.
* Flexible and ready to commit fully to the new adventure.
