The EU team at EY provides robust, evidence‑based policy, regulatory and economic advice, and technical assistance mainly to the European institutions. We enable clients to gather evidence, anticipate change, design public policy responses, provide technical solutions, and coordinate stakeholder engagement.
You will be joining our Internal Market & Consumers Team which has a high‑profile, expanding project portfolio including for the European Commission and its agencies across a range of policy topics such as SMEs & entrepreneurship, industry & sustainability, standardisation, digital markets, consumer empowerment & safety. We currently run projects and framework contracts for DG GROW, DG JUST, DG CNCT, DG FISMA, EISMEA, the EP IMCO and ITRE committees and others.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Manage tasks and assignments, ensuring timely delivery of evidence‑based outputs that meet client satisfaction.
* Demonstrate proficiency in transposition and conformity assessments and in analysing legal issues including comparative, gap, subsidiarity and proportionality assessment.
* Organise and coordinate specific contracts, guiding the team in legal desk research and interviews while maintaining effective communication with clients.
* Develop data collection guides, questionnaires, or research templates to facilitate project execution.
* Support the preparation of proposals, including developing methodologies and assisting in budget planning.
* Provide intellectual and methodological input in projects and proposals, ensuring high‑quality outputs.
* Contribute to the leadership and growth of the team by bringing fresh, innovative ideas and encouraging collaboration.
* Support junior team members in their daily tasks and contribute to their development through mentorship and participation in internal training programs.
Your Profile
* A master’s degree in law.
* Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
* At least 2 years of experience working with EU clients in a consulting or research role.
* Excellent communication and business development skills demonstrated through previous experience.
* Ability to work effectively within large multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
* Proficiency in writing and communicating in excellent English.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and present it clearly.
* Flexibility and adaptability to changing project requirements and environments.
* Experience in stakeholder engagement and management, focusing on building and maintaining relationships.
