We are now looking to recruit an APPLICATION ENGINEER (m/f).
The Role:
• Provide technical advice and support to Sales and Marketing departments
o Assist in the choice of the best solution by proposing the suitable activated carbon type and adsorption system through evaluation of the customer process and needs.
o Implement all stages of projects from design of experimentation over plant design to start-up of operations.
• Continuously develop knowledge of activated carbon, adsorption systems, services, equipment and products.
• Train personnel in the activated carbon applications field.
• Carry out the coordination of complete projects with the Application Engineering team.
• Troubleshoot activated carbon adsorption and reactivation systems where needed.
• Develop the technical knowledge and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interface with customers (process engineers), sales staff, and colleagues.
Key responsibilities:
1. Provide technical information, advice and support to the European Sales and Marketing teams for activated carbon, mobile filter systems and reactivation service.
2. Follow up and coordinate laboratory tests (Isotherm, pilot, ACT, LRS, Full scale, …). Responsible for the design, installation and operation of pilot systems.
3. Analyze results and write technical reports and documentation to satisfy customer requirements.
4. Follow up technical projects with customers.
5. Maintain and update the competence basis and technical know-how in order to sustain the professional image of the company for internal knowledge management and external customer support.
6. Continuously develop knowledge of activated carbon applications and seek improvements in the design of carbon applications, equipment and products.
7. Stay aware of competitive products, services and technologies and provide technical advice as well as assistance to the sales force.
8. Train European Sales and Marketing teams in the activated carbon and associated services in order to enhance their technical knowledge.
9. Gather knowledge in technical disciplines and improve customer relations, in order to get a better insight about applications, customer processes and competitive technologies.
10. Develop and present technical presentations in conferences.
Profil
1. Degree in chemical engineering or bio-chemical engineering.
2. First relevant industrial experience in purification of air, gas, water, liquid chemicals (3y) (not necessarily in the field of activated carbon).
3. Able to communicate information internally and externally.
4. Travel to customer sites.
5. Computer literate – Microsoft Office suite minimum, …
6. Languages : Italian, French and English.
