About Cognizone
Cognizone is a leading software development company based in Belgium, specialising in Semantic Technologies, Knowledge Graphs, and Linked Open Data. Since 2015, we have delivered industrial-strength solutions for public institutions including European institutions and national government bodies across Europe.
Project Context
Cognizone develops and maintains a comprehensive suite of legislative applications for a European government institution. The platform leverages knowledge graphs and semantic technologies to manage, publish, and disseminate national legislation. It serves as the official digital channel for accessing a country's legal framework and is used daily by legal professionals, civil servants, and the general public.
The ecosystem is built on a domain-specific ontology aligned with the European Legislation Identifier (ELI) standard, with data stored in RDF knowledge graphs, served via SPARQL endpoints, indexed by Elasticsearch, and presented through Angular-based front-ends. The same architecture has been successfully deployed for other European government clients, making the role inherently multi-client and cross-country.
