Job Description
The Brand Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing retail-specific go-to-market strategies and local marketing initiatives, while also acting as Key Account Manager for a portfolio of Dutch-speaking retail customers, in close collaboration with Marketing, Sales, and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
* The role requires managing a portfolio of brands across multiple categories, including home care, personal hygiene, textile care, and dermo-cosmetics. This involves adapting marketing strategies to the specific dynamics of each category, ensuring consistent brand positioning while addressing different consumer needs, retail environments, and regulatory requirements.
* Create, own, and execute the local marketing plan, ensuring alignment with global brand strategy and commercial objectives
* Develop and execute retail-specific go-to-market strategies in coordination with the Head Office Marketing team
* Communicate product value propositions and key benefits to external retail partners
* Act as Key Account Manager for a selection of Dutch-speaking retail customers, managing the commercial relationship end-to-end
* Develop account plans, lead negotiations, and ensure achievement of sales, margin, and distribution objectives for assigned accounts
* Collect and share retail customer feedback with internal stakeholders
* Manage account-specific trade marketing budgets
* Monitor and analyze sales performance by retailer and by account
* Recommend strategies to improve performance, including product refreshes and new product introductions
* Develop and execute retailer-specific consumer marketing programs, retailer education initiatives, and pricing adjustments
* Work with Marketing to develop sales enablement and selling tools
* Manage pricing strategy, channel inventory exposure, and price protection monitoring and analysis
* Analyze and interpret retail reports and data (e.g. Nielsen, Kantar, etc.)
* Act as a liaison with third-party merchandising service providers
* Support digital marketing initiatives
* Plan, coordinate, and support marketing and sales events, including professional conferences and trade shows
* Support the Head Office Marketing team with product launches and promotional campaigns through end-to-end project management, including timelines, creative deliverables, and campaign recap presentations
* Work cross-functionally with creative, sales, product, retail operations, and finance teams to manage campaign deliverables
* Lead the creative asset development process, from briefing creative teams to routing partner assets for brand review and compliance
* Conduct post-campaign reporting by collecting execution metrics from partners, analyzing performance, and providing insights and recommendations
* Support budget execution, including partner-specific forecasting, creation and tracking of SOWs, POs, and invoices, and flagging potential budget risks
* Perform other marketing and administrative duties as assigned by the department management team
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Highly organized, structured, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* A strong team player who enjoys working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
* Trilingual: fluent in French, Dutch, and English (written and spoken)
* Comfortable working with numbers, data analysis, and performance metrics
* Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing, preferably within the FMCG sector
* Proven experience in customer-facing commercial roles
* Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for analysis, reporting, and presentations
* Strong project management skills with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
