Overview:
Join a dynamic team of payment leaders at the forefront of business development across key verticals, driving Mastercard’s revenue growth and expanding its footprint in digital payments acceptance. This strategic role is focused on accelerating commerce by identifying and executing high-value opportunities within a diverse network of over 160 pan-European acceptance channel partners.

Role:
As a senior business development leader, you will leverage your extensive sales expertise to engage high-profile partners, build influential relationships, and drive the adoption of Mastercard’s cutting-edge payment solutions. Your ability to craft compelling value propositions and negotiate high-impact agreements will be instrumental in scaling our services business and expanding card acceptance across targeted industries.
Key Responsibilities:
• Sales Leadership: Drive aggressive revenue growth by securing TCV in annual incremental platform sales, with a focus on scalable, one-to-many distribution opportunities.
• Business Expansion: Identify and capitalize on opportunities to embed Mastercard’s payment solutions within digital merchant ecosystems and software-led platform providers (e.g., ISVs, fintechs, and other channel partners).
• Strategic Negotiation: Lead complex deal negotiations, structuring agreements that deliver long-term value for Mastercard and its partners.
• Market Influence: Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy that positions Mastercard as the preferred payments partner for enterprise-level merchants and fintech innovators.
• Client Engagement: Cultivate deep relationships with senior executives across key partners, leveraging your network and industry expertise to unlock new business potential.
• Commercial Acumen: Apply data-driven insights to construct compelling business cases, optimizing pricing, terms, and product positioning to maximize adoption and revenue.
• Solution Selling: Work cross-functionally with internal teams to tailor Mastercard’s payment solutions to client needs, ensuring a consultative and high-impact sales approach.

Who You Are:
• A Proven Sales/BD Director: Extensive experience in high-stakes business development and enterprise sales, with a track record of delivering multimillion-euro deals in payments, fintech, or related industries.
• A Strategic Negotiator: Skilled in structuring and closing complex agreements, balancing risk and reward to drive sustainable business growth.
• A Relationship Builder: Adept at engaging C-suite executives and decision-makers, fostering long-term partnerships that lead to tangible business outcomes.
• A Digital Payments Expert: Deep understanding of the evolving payments landscape, including acceptance solutions, digital wallets, embedded finance, and platform-based distribution models.
• An Insight-Driven Operator: Strong analytical mindset, leveraging transactional data, market intelligence, and sales enablement tools to identify and execute on new opportunities.
• A High-Impact Individual Contributor: Thrives in an autonomous, results-driven environment, proactively driving sales success without direct team management responsibilities.
