We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic business development manager focused on the academic world to play a key role in the launch and success of a new online research database for the humanities.
Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify user needs, trends, and competitor activities in academia, research, and science policy areas to contribute to the strategic development and approach.
* Develop and implement effective marketing and sales strategies in partnership with the sales and marketing team to drive product success.
* Execute sales strategies successfully, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
* Establish new networks and build strong relationships to investigate and develop commercial opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong affinity for the academic world and be enthusiastic about technology-driven solutions. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of French and Dutch is preferred. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
Requirements
* A proactive commercially-minded individual with a strong understanding of the academic ecosystem, particularly in the humanities, and the scholarly publishing market.
* Solid presentation skills with the ability to engage and persuade diverse audiences.
* In-depth knowledge of analytical tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar.
* Strong persuasive and diplomatic communication skills, both written and verbal.
