The British School of Brussels (BSB) is a leading not-for-profit, inclusive international school with 1.300 students from around 70 countries. Set on a stunning green campus in Tervuren – close to both vibrant Leuven and cosmopolitan Brussels – we combine world-class facilities with a warm, welcoming community.

What truly sets BSB apart is not just what we do, but how we do it. Strong relationships, a shared sense of belonging, and a relentless commitment to quality underpin every aspect of school life. Our students are inspired to aim high, broaden their horizons, and thrive-academically, personally, and socially.

From our bespoke enquiry-based Primary curriculum to our outstanding range of pathways at Post-16 (A Levels, IB Diploma, and BTEC), and an enrichment programme offering hundreds of activities each week, BSB provides exceptional opportunities for every child. Our graduates go on to top universities worldwide, and these results are the natural outcome of a culture built on care, curiosity, and collaboration.

The Role:

The British School of Brussels has established itself as one of the leading international school football programmes in Europe. With nearly 500 students participating—approximately one third of the school population—the programme offers inclusive, high-quality provision across both grassroots and competitive pathways. Opportunities are available from as young as five years old, with structured competitive teams from Year 5 through to Year 13, ensuring all students are welcomed and supported according to their interests and ability.

The successful candidate will lead one of the most comprehensively resourced school football programmes available. The role includes responsibility for a coaching team of eight staff, ranging from former professional players to coaches at earlier stages of their development. This presents an outstanding opportunity for an experienced leader to shape, develop, and further enhance an already highly successful programme.

The post-holder will have overall responsibility for the strategic oversight, coordination, and day-to-day management of the football programme, acting as the primary point of contact for all football-related matters. The school currently fields seven teams in the local league, requiring significant organisational oversight to ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, and player availability. The role demands flexibility, including the ability to step into coaching duties when required due to staff absence.

Weekend fixtures during term time form a core part of the programme and are an expected element of the role.

This is a particularly exciting time to join BSB, as the school is in the final stages of securing an exclusive partnership with a Premier League football club. The role will include responsibility for managing this partnership and overseeing two weeks of partner-led football camps each year.
