Powertrain Research Engineer – NL & EN – ALTEN Belgium
The Position
As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Powertrain Research Engineer to join our teams and work on innovative projects in Belgium.
As a Powertrain Research Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:
* Defining and analyzing the requirements of industrial partners
* Designing and redesigning the system architecture of hybrid and electric drivetrains
* Simulating drive cycles and load cycles of complete powertrain systems
* Developing, implementing, and testing powertrain control functionalities
* Optimizing energy flows within drivetrains from a system perspective
* Selecting and dimensioning energy storage systems (e.g., batteries, supercapacitors)
* Specifying validation test requirements
* Leading and collaborating within a multidisciplinary research team
Your Profile
* Master’s or PhD degree in Engineering (Automotive, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, or related field)
* Proven track record with at least one relevant academic or professional project in the research domains of Powertrain
* Strong motivation and clear interest in the proposed assignment
* Research mindset with focus on technology and industrial results
* Professional communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
* Experience with Matlab-Simulink-SimScape toolchain
* Experience in coaching and collaborating with junior colleagues
* Experience in interaction with industrial companies
