We operate critical, shared mobile network assets in a fast-evolving threat landscape and under increasing Belgian/EU regulatory expectations for telecom and critical infrastructure, In order to strengthen and centralize security leadership and clear, risk based decision making across IT and Operating Technology (OT), we open a new role as CHIEF INFORMATION SECURITY OFFICER (CISO)
Your mission
As CISO, you report to the Managing Director and are responsible for protecting MWingz’ information assets, IT services and telecom network operations. You define and govern the security strategy across IT and OT, strengthen network resilience, and manage cybersecurity and AI-related risks in a regulated telecom environment. You enhance the overall cybersecurity maturity,and achieve and maintain ISO 27001 certification.
Key responsibilities
Define and execute the security strategy, policies, procedures and related roadmap.
Lead enterprise, technical, and AI/automation risk management and policy management
Oversee IT security domains: IAM, cloud/SaaS, vulnerability management, and secure SDLC
Define and govern security for telecom RAN, RAN-OSS, and vendor-managed systems
Strengthen security-by-design and resilience through BCP/DR planning, testing, and operational KPIs
Lead (cyber) crisis preparedness and coordination, including executive escalation, crisis playbooks, communication interfaces, and regular exercises involving MWingz, operators, critical suppliers and relevant authorities.
Ensure organisation is in place for cyber-incident detection and response, including SOC/NOC collaboration
Manage third-party and supply chain security, including vendor requirements and audits.
Supervise the application and improvement of the Information Security Management System (ISMS)
Ensure compliance with Belgian/EU regulations, customer obligations and reporting to authorities
Promote a strong security culture through awareness and role-based training
Ensure security-by-design and risk-based decision-making across transformation programs, major network evolutions, new platforms, and sourcing changes
Define and operate the security governance model of the joint venture, including clear decision-making, risk acceptance, escalation and reporting mechanisms with MWingz leadership, shareholders/operators, and relevant authorities
Define and report security KPIs/KRIs, risk exposure, compliance status, major incidents, and remediation progress to executive management and governance bodies
Your Profile
Experience & profile
10+ years in cybersecurity or IT risk leadership
Strong experience in telecom, critical infrastructure, or highly regulated environments
Solid knowledge of security architecture, IAM/PAM, network security, and operations
Solid understanding of telecom networks (especially Radio Access Network) and large-scale infrastructure security
Proven leadership across engineering and operations teams
Understanding of AI and automation risks and governance
Relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001) are a plus
Strong executive communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities
You are at least bi-lingual : English and Dutch or French
Key interfaces
MWingz Board, CEO/MD, Orange Belgium & Proximus Security counterparts, risk and internal/external audit team, critical suppliers & managed service providers, Network Operations, IT, Engineering, Procurement, Legal/Privacy, vendors, and regulators.
