We are looking for an experienced IT Domain Architect – Asset Management to join a dynamic architecture team within a critical infrastructure environment.
The role focuses on ensuring that the IT landscape supporting the Asset domain is coherent, secure, operable, and future-proof. You will act as a key link between business initiatives and IT implementation, translating business capabilities into scalable and robust technical solutions while aligning with strategic and regulatory requirements.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Ensure the coherence, security, operability, and future-readiness of the Asset domain IT landscape
Act as a bridge between business architecture and IT delivery
Translate business capabilities into actionable IT architectures and roadmaps
Align domain architecture with enterprise standards, strategies, and regulatory constraints
Support decision-making through architectural expertise and governance
Your day-to-day activities will include:
Form a strategic partnership with Business Architecture to translate organizational capabilities into IT roadmaps
Convert business processes into detailed IT blueprints guiding development and implementation
Standards & Governance
Define and enforce domain-specific principles aligned with group and local standards
Present and defend architecture designs to governance bodies (e.g. Architectural Review Board)
Prevent architectural drift and unmanaged technical debt
Monitor SLA/OLA performance and report domain-level risks
Maintain a single source of truth for the Asset IT application and platform portfolio
Perform portfolio assessments (e.g. Gartner TIME, 6R) in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders
Identify reuse opportunities to reduce technical debt and costs
Ensure solutions are viable across lifecycle phases (build, run, evolve, retire) and aligned with domain strategy
Strategic Advisory
Conduct trade-off analyses (cost, risk, complexity, time-to-value)
Review solution architectures for consistency within the domain
Define and maintain domain roadmaps considering regulatory and technological evolution
Advise senior stakeholders on long-term architectural implications
Collaborate with Data and Solution Architects on data models, integration patterns, and data ownership
Ensure interoperability between enterprise systems, control systems, and analytics platforms
Support semantic consistency and data quality
Security, Resilience & Compliance
Ensure security, availability, and resilience requirements are embedded in architectures
Guarantee compliance with regulatory, safety, and cybersecurity requirements
Define architectural measures for business continuity and disaster recovery
You have the following skills:

Technical & Professional Experience
Strong knowledge of TOGAF and ArchiMate, applied pragmatically
Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event Storming, and Agile Architecture
Familiarity with architecture evaluation methods such as ATAM and Gartner TIME
Industry & Domain Expertise
Strong experience in Energy & Utilities or similar infrastructure environments
Exposure to Asset Management and operational environments
Understanding of IT/OT integration and safety-critical systems
Awareness of security, availability, regulatory compliance, and operational risks in critical infrastructures
Languages
Native-level proficiency in Dutch, French, or German
Professional proficiency in English
Knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset
