The project:
Our client in the banking sector is looking for a Data Governance Expert to join their team.
Key responsibilities:
* You contribute to structuring data exchange within the organization
* You collect respective metadata needs with a high variety of stakeholders (Business, IT architects, data engineers)
* You set up a mechanism to version our centralized EDM guidelines accordingly
* You support the EDM squad to define roadmaps on the EDM topic and projects to bring the EDM practice to a next level
* You guide stakeholders to ensure their contributions to EDM and its related use cases meet the centralized guidelines
* You support monitoring of quality & progress of the EDM practice and its usage
* You facilitate guilds and boards if needed
* You support fitting the overall EDM practice in a broader data governance context (glossaries, dictionaries, lineage)
* You promote the culture of data modelling & data governance throughout the organization (importance of tooling, modelling practice, modelling guidelines to both business and IT profiles)
* You analyze and define the gap between internal data model standards and industry standards
Is this you?
* Bachelor/Master s degree in IT or Business engineering or equivalent by professional experience
* Knowledge of English.
* Knowledge of Dutch OR French to interact with stakeholders.
* At least 3 years of relevant experience
* Good understanding of / experience with top down and bottom up data modelling (conceptual, logical and physical models, canonical data models, subject areas) with several languages (UML, ERD)
* A solid understanding of the functionalities of SAP PowerDesigner or other data modelling tool
* Good understanding of the different aspects of data governance (metadata management, data quality, data lineage and traceability, GDPR, BCBS239, data dictionaries etc.)
* Understanding of the data management functionalities and tooling landscape is a plus
* The ability to train people, develop modelling guidelines and management supportive deliverables
* Experience with Data Products and Data Mesh
* Experience within BN F or banking Industry
* Experience with API and Kafka design
* Experience with Data Architecture
* Understanding of working with industry models (e.g. ISO20022)
* Experience with software development & database design
* Knowledge of Agile Methodology / Project Management
