Context of the Mission
A leading healthcare organisation is undertaking a large-scale digital transformation programme involving the deployment of a new Electronic Patient Record (EPR/DPI) platform and its integration within a complex hospital ecosystem.
To support this initiative, the organisation is seeking a senior Transformation & Integration Architect who will also contribute in a DPI Integration Project Manager capacity during the pre-implementation phase.
Mission Objectives
The consultant will provide end-to-end architectural and transformation expertise to ensure a successful implementation of the selected EPR platform, including:
* Definition of the target architecture
* Design of the integration strategy and interoperability model
* Contribution to the implementation roadmap and transition approach
* Support to pre-implementation and transformation activities
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Strategy
* Analyse the current application landscape, workflows, and integrations
* Define target solution architecture across business, application, data, and infrastructure layers
* Design interoperability models aligned with healthcare standards
* Develop integration architecture covering clinical and non-clinical systems
Transformation & Programme Support
* Contribute to the implementation roadmap and transition strategy
* Support data migration strategy and master data governance
* Define governance frameworks and architectural principles
* Provide structured documentation (architecture diagrams, blueprints, plans, presentations)
Integration & Ecosystem
* Plan and support integration across:
* Clinical systems (EPR/DPI, ADT/TARFAC)
* Pharmacy, laboratory, radiology systems
* Administrative and financial systems (ERP)
* External digital health platforms
* Identify dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies
Stakeholder Management
* Engage with clinical, IT, and business stakeholders
* Facilitate workshops, working groups, and decision forums
* Align stakeholders around transformation objectives and solutions
Risk, Compliance & Infrastructure
* Assess impacts on infrastructure, cybersecurity, identity management, and business continuity
* Ensure compliance with:
* Belgian healthcare regulations
* Data protection and security requirements
* Interoperability standards
Required Profile
Experience
* Minimum 15 years’ experience in healthcare IT
* Proven experience in EPR/DPI implementation programmes (min. 3 systems)
* Experience delivering architecture for multi-site hospital groups (min. 3 environments)
* Strong background in both:
* Healthcare provider environments
* Vendor/solution delivery environments
* Demonstrated experience working with multiple stakeholders and international vendors
Technical Expertise
* Enterprise Architecture (Business / Application / Data / Infrastructure)
* Healthcare interoperability standards: HL7, FHIR, DICOM, IHE
* Integration of hospital systems (EPR, ADT, ERP, Lab, Radiology, Pharmacy)
* Data governance and migration strategies
* BPM (Business Process Modelling)
Additional Expertise
* Strong understanding of the Belgian healthcare ecosystem (incl. xphnsxz eHealth)
* Vendor and contract management experience
* Project management certifications (Prince2, PMBOK) are a plus

Languages
* Fluent in French, Dutch, and English (written and spoken)
Practical Information
* Location: Brussels (multi-site environment)
* Work model: Hybrid (up to 50% remote)
* Workload: Part-time (approx. 40%)
* Start date: ASAP
* Duration: Initial 12-month contract, with possible extension
