MECHANICAL ENGINEER - KORTRIJK (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITION

As a Mechanical Engineer focused on product development, you will be a key contributor to the design, prototyping, and optimization of our products. This role goes beyond traditional mechanical design, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams including industrial design, electrical engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure that products are not only functional but manufacturable, reliable, and innovative.
You will be responsible for transforming conceptual designs into detailed 3D models and technical drawings, selecting appropriate materials, considering manufacturing processes, and iterating designs based on prototyping feedback.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where creativity and problem-solving drive product success.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and refine mechanical designs for new products, components, and assemblies.
Create detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and specifications (SolidWorks preferred, but other CAD platforms considered).
Collaborate with industrial designers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing teams to integrate mechanical designs seamlessly with overall product systems.
Participate in design reviews, prototyping, testing, and iterative improvement cycles.
Evaluate materials, mechanical systems, and manufacturing methods to ensure design feasibility, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during prototyping and production stages.
Stay current with emerging technologies, materials, and best practices in mechanical and product design.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, preferably SolidWorks; experience with other CAD tools is acceptable.
Hands-on experience in product development, including prototyping, testing, and iteration.
Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical design principles.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality results on schedule.
Familiarity with rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and CNC manufacturing. xphnsxz
