To support our continued growth, our European Grants Team is looking for a Senior European Funding Consultant to strengthen our Brussels office.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior European Funding Consultant, you will coordinate the submission process of complex, large scale, multi-stakeholder proposals to major European funding programs across a wide range of public and industrial sectors. You will secure funding opportunities that align with your clients’ strategies. Our European Grants Team works closely with the national experts in the Leyton countries.
In direct relation with the client’s executive-level or project leads, you are responsible for:
* Detection of funding opportunities: you analyse projects and identify most appropriate co-funding opportunities for your clients at national and European level, accurately assessing the feasibility of projects, and liaising with the national teams to assess national opportunities as well.
* Coordination: you are able to coordinate international consortia or across multiple local divisions of a multinational company.
* Representation: you represent Leyton and its clients’ strategic interests at various (networking) events.
* Communication: you operate as a key-contact internally/externally and towards the public authorities; you contribute to the shaping of new communication tools and their content.
* Troubleshooting: you are quick to signal potential issues and find pragmatic solutions that work smoothly for all parties involved.
* Business development: actively supporting the lead generation and business development and participating in the drafting of commercial proposals.
* Building partnerships: you help our clients to find partners all over Europe, form consortia and gather political support for their projects.
* Proposal management: you quickly understand the strengths and weaknesses of a project/business in order to translate it into a convincing grant application, you support your colleagues during the drafting phases, reviewing and co-drafting proposals.
* Client management: you manage and foster relationships with Leyton’s clients, including during the proposal management.
* Training and coaching: sharing your expertise, you help colleagues across Europe develop their knowledge and skills regarding (EU) Grants.
PROFILE
* Minimum 5 years of professional experience in European funding programmes (e.g. Innovation Fund, Connecting Europe Facility, European Defence Fund, Horizon Europe, LIFE, etc. – experience with public affairs is a real plus.
* Strong interest in innovation, climate, energy and societal challenges..
* Entrepreneurial, client-focused mindset with excellent writing and communication skills
* Comfortable interacting with senior executives in technical environments
* Adaptive and quick-thinking particularly in unexpected situations.
* Good at solving problems in a creative and constructive way.
* Ability to work independently and, to define and meet specific objectives.
* Rigorous and methodical with a strong capacity for analysis and synthesis.
* Proven client management experience and strong networking skills.
* Fluent in English. (additional European languages are a plus).
* Willing to occasionally travel within Europe.
