About the Role
The Principal Accountant will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with IFRS and/or IPSAS standards, and supporting our Client's financial reporting and analysis needs.
Responsibilities
* Support in the fixed asset management.
* Draw up financial statements.
* Analyze the IFRS standards and their implementation within the Agency.
* Specialized experience in process analysis and redesign.
* Apply technical and analytical approaches to address issues related to process assessment, change management for process improvement, organizational transformation, and/or other related areas.
Qualifications
* University Degree or equivalent - completed university studies of 4 years in a relevant area, e.g. Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or of 3 years plus 6-year relevant experience.
Required Skills
* Minimum 5 years' relevant professional experience to carry out the described responsibilities.
* Experience as senior accountant or financial and accounting analyst in large organizations.
* Experience in the control and reconciliation of accounts, commitments, obligation and expenditure of funds.
* Experience in financial statement preparation.
* Experience in the application of International Accounting Standards (IFRS or IPSAS).
* Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications, in particular Excel, PowerPoint.
* Experience in drafting financial and accounting policies, and relevant procedures.
Preferred Skills
* Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Oracle) and sub-ledgers (FA, AP, AR, PO, CM).
* Experience in the use of project management software.
* Experience in assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.
* Experience in supporting internal/external audits for financial and/or performance audits.
* A professional qualification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) would be an advantage.
Pay range and compensation package
START DATE: Ideally 05/01/2025
DURATION: 1-year freelance contract (renewable)
