Solution Architect Data Platform, SBB (Freelance possible)

Objectives
The objective #1 is to draft the SBB (Solution Building Blocks) architecture design. SBB is a method for building complex systems by breaking them down into smaller, modular components or “building blocks” that represent specific technologies.
The expectation is that the technology direction should follow for a modern data platform.
The objective #2 is to become the “memory” of the Data Platform of the client, making the link between the business needs, and the implementation and maintenance of the platform.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Understand and integrate the Architecture Building Blocks (ABB) into the Solution Building Blocks (SBB) design.
Collect detailed technical requirements from stakeholders.
Specify what products and components will implement particular functionalities.
Conduct technology watch, product and vendor awareness.
Review and assess the current IT landscape, including shadow IT.
Define how the implementation of the functionalities will be carried out.
Provide a mapping from the SBB to the IT topology and operational policies.
Detail performance expectations and configurability options.
Guarantee a cost‑efficient approach in a funding‑constrained sector.
Skills
Objective and pragmatic approach to drafting solutions based on needs, requirements, and budget.
Proven experience as solution architect in data platform infrastructure and network.
Sound knowledge of software, middleware, hardware, networks, security, data protection, and integration of cohesive data platforms.
Technology agnostic: on‑premises, cloud, hybrid, open‑source or commercial solutions.
Experience with health data or other sensitive personal data is a plus.
Autonomous and pro‑active attitude.
Languages
English – Active knowledge, spoken and written.
Dutch – Active knowledge.
French – Active knowledge.
Availability
ASAP
Qualifications
Confirmed level Data Warehouse Architect role.
Language proficiency: English (Active), French (Passive), Dutch (Passive).
Confirmed skills: Data Management Systems, Data Governance, Data Architecture, Data Warehousing (Kimball dimensional modeling and Data Vault), Data Analysis and Visualization, Data & Information Architecture, Health Sector Data Protection, Data Platform Engineering, Health Data Management, Privacy Expertise with Cloud solutions.
