Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Services Business Consultant to support client engagements across Belgium and wider European markets. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders within financial institutions to identify business challenges, design strategic solutions, and deliver transformation initiatives that improve operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, customer experience, and profitability.
This role is ideal for a consultant with strong analytical capabilities, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a solid understanding of the financial services landscape.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support consulting engagements for financial services clients across banking, insurance, payments, asset management, and fintech sectors
* Conduct business analysis, process reviews, and operational assessments to identify improvement opportunities
* Gather and document business requirements, process flows, and target operating models
* Support transformation programmes including digital initiatives, regulatory remediation, and operational change
* Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings with senior business and technology teams
* Develop strategic recommendations and present findings to client leadership teams
* Analyse market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive landscapes impacting the financial services sector
* Assist clients in implementing process optimisation, governance frameworks, and change management initiatives
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery within agreed timelines and budgets
Required Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline
* 3–8 years of experience in consulting or within the financial services industry
* Experience working with banks, insurance companies, investment firms, payment providers, or fintech organisations
* Strong understanding of financial services operations, regulatory frameworks, and industry trends
* Experience in one or more of the following areas:
o Business transformation
o Regulatory change
o Operational improvement
o Digital transformation
o Risk and compliance
o Customer journey optimisation
o Target operating model design
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and presentation abilities
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work effectively in client-facing environments
* Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and business analysis tools
Preferred Skills
* Knowledge of European financial regulations (MiFID II, PSD2, AML/KYC, GDPR, DORA, Basel frameworks, Solvency II, etc.)
* Experience with Agile delivery methodologies
* Project management certifications (PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, Scrum) are advantageous
* Fluency in English required; French and/or Dutch strongly preferred
