Senior Network Administrator

JOB SUMMARY:
You will share responsibility for maintaining the Sotera Health network infrastructure. This includes contributing to the strategic direction of the network and supporting existing systems such as switches, routers, wireless networks, firewalls, SD-WAN devices, and voice technologies.
Essential job functions:
1. Design, implement, and maintain the network infrastructure to support current operations and future growth.
2. Develop and maintain network roadmaps aligned with business objectives and evolving infrastructure requirements.
3. Lead or participate in network-related projects, including planning, execution, and post-implementation review.
4. Monitor and optimize network performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure high availability and scalability.
5. Configure, administer, and maintain network hardware and software, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems.
6. Execute upgrades, patches, and changes to network infrastructure in coordination with IT change management processes.
7. Maintain accurate and secure documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new network solutions and support business initiatives.
9. Coordinate with vendors for hardware/software procurement, roadmap discussions, and support escalations.
10. Provide leadership, training, and mentor network team members, promoting knowledge sharing and operational consistency.
11. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements (., GMP, GLP, ISO) and internal security policies.
12. Act as an escalation point for complex network issues, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution support to other team members.
13. Perform other duties as assigned to support the IT infrastructure and business operations.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
14. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field - or equivalent professional experience.
15. CCNA certification is preferred; additional certifications (., CCNP, CCIE, Azure Network Engineer Associate) are a plus.
EXPERIECE/SKILLS:
16. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience supporting complex enterprise networks.
17. Strong understanding of IT and Information Security best practices, including network segmentation, firewall policy design, and penetration testing.
18. Proficient in managing and supporting enterprise networks, including switching, routing, wireless, SD-WAN, and next-generation firewall (NGFW) platforms.
19. Expert level expertise with Palo Alto Firewalls, Panorama, and Prisma strongly desired.
20. Skilled in architecting network solutions for cloud, hybrid, and edge environments.
21. Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure strongly desired.
22. Knowledgeable in implementing network continuity and disaster recovery solutions that prioritize high availability, redundancy, and fault-tolerant architecture.
23. Experience with network performance monitoring, capacity planning, and optimization to ensure high availability and scalability.
24. Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and execute cross-functional network projects with limited supervision.
25. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required for writing technical documentation and engaging with stakeholders.
26. Familiarity with IP Telephony systems (Avaya or cloud solution preferred), SIP protocols, and unified communication platforms are desirable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
27. Ability to remain seated or stand at a computer workstation for 90% of the workday, with the remaining 10% involving standing or walking within lab or office environments.
28. Occasional lifting of equipment or materials weighing up to 50lbs may be required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
29. Up to 50% travel for site support, project work, training, and vendor or team meetings.
