As a Business Process Owner (BPO) for the Sellable Item Management, you own how products are born, enriched, and retired within our ecosystem. You own the end-to-end process and governance of the Item Enablement and related Data Quality process, ensuring that every part in our catalog is "fit for sale" with right speed and accuracy.
Your role and responsibilities
1. Documenting the AS IS lifecycle processes (both on Synonym, Cross Item, Product and Sellable Item level) from inception until phase-out / retirement.
2. Define and monitor, in cooperation with the relevant business, IT and BI stakeholders, the TO BE lifecycle.
3. Translate this TO BE lifecycle towards sustainable IT solutions (both in BUILD and BUY components).
4. Co-design the reasons and criteria to go from one stage to another in the Product Lifecycle.
5. Develop queries in SQL that allow to make the data insightful and actionable.
6. Stay in line with the overall visions as set within various transformational roadmap.
Your Key Result Areas and Core Activities
1. Strategic Item Lifecycle Ownership
7. Define the vision for a streamlined Item Enablement process, reducing "Time-to-Market" for new sellable items.
8. Ensure item data structures support global sales channels and diverse sourcing origins. Be the SPOC for a cross-functional stakeholder group including people from IT, BI, Business and Data Management on how Sellable Items behave in the component landscape (incl. Legacy system, Parts Domain, ERP, WMS, OTM, PXM)
2. Change Management & Data Stewardship
9. Lead the organizational shift toward high-quality data at the source, ensuring Product Managers and Sourcing Specialists adopt standardized enablement workflows.
10. Partner with Data Governance teams to define "Data Quality" rules for sellable items.
11. Act as a change leader to ensure the sales force understands and leverages cross-reference data to offer alternatives to customers.
3. Continues Improvement & Performance Management
12. Use root cause analysis to identify issues in the data lineage throughout the component landscape and define actions to improve data quality and data processes (both in IT components and business processes).
13. Continuously improve the enrichment process (and the data quality criteria attached to it) removing bottlenecks in the setup process of products.
14. Define and monitor Data Lineage and KPIs such as Item Enablement Lead Time
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
15. Act as the primary interface between Data Management, Product & Procurement, Technical Information Services, Technical Services, Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality and IT.
16. Represent “Sellable Item Management” in various stakeholder groups
How to succeed / Your profile
17. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Management, Supply Chain, Marketing or Engineering.
18. Familiarity with how item data impacts downstream ERP, E-commerce, and Warehouse Management systems.
19. Data-Centric and IT-system Mindset: Deep understanding of data hierarchy, attribute mapping, and the impact of data quality on sales.
20. Strategic Acumen: Ability to see the item master not just as a record, but as a tool for competitive advantage and sourcing resilience.
21. Proficiency in BPMN and familiarity with PIM (Product Information Management) or MDM software.
