About the Assignment
A large organization in Brussels is currently reinforcing its monitoring team and is looking for a senior Dynatrace Expert to support the migration from an existing Splunk-based monitoring platform to Dynatrace.The current monitoring and alerting environment is built on:Splunk EnterpriseSplunk Enterprise SecuritySplunk IT Service IntelligenceDynatrace is currently used only for troubleshooting purposes. The organization now wants to evolve this setup and migrate its monitoring and alerting capabilities to Dynatrace.To validate this strategic direction, a pilot project will be launched in Q2 2026, focusing on the end-to-end migration of two applicative solutions to Dynatrace. If successful, a full migration from Splunk to Dynatrace is planned over the coming years.We are looking for a hands-on consultant with deep Dynatrace expertise and basic Splunk knowledge to support the internal team during this transition.
ResponsibilitiesIdentify KPIs to monitor infrastructure components such as:Storage systemsNetwork componentsOperating systems (Windows & Linux)Virtual infrastructureServers, Databases, Time serversCertificate infrastructure and applicationsImplement application monitoring based on KPIs provided by application teamsConfigure data gathering and retrieval in DynatraceSet up alerts and related actions (e.g., email notifications, script execution)Build and maintain dashboardsDocument all configurations according to best practicesSupport the existing Splunk team by implementing simple monitoring requirements in Splunk during the coexistence periodValidate future Dynatrace configurations and propose improvementsAnalyze, implement, test, and deploy new monitoring requirementsMaintain and update monitoring documentation
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have:At least 5 years of experience in a similar monitoring engineering roleProven experience with implementation of monitoring requirements in DynatraceStrong knowledge of data gathering configuration, alerting, and dashboard creation in DynatraceExperience with monitoring documentation (e.g., service decompositions, KPI definitions)At least 3 years of experience with SplunkExcellent understanding of infrastructure technologies and how to monitor them effectivelyAbility to work autonomouslyFluent in EnglishFluent in French OR Dutch
Should-Have:Dynatrace or Splunk certificationExperience with operational and troubleshooting activities in DynatraceStrong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of ITIL processesExperience with Microsoft AzureExperience with monitoring virtual infrastructure (SDDC / VxRail, VMware, VRLI, VRNI) and integration of Dynatrace with vCenterProficiency in the other national language (French or Dutch)
