Job Description
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful end‑to‑end delivery of multiple complex software and service projects, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget and client‑satisfactory execution.
This role oversees large‑scale, high‑risk programs requiring coordination across multiple teams, regions, stakeholders and service domains. The Senior Project Manager also contributes to long‑term account development, establishes strong partnerships with senior customer stakeholders, and manages strategic relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
Project Scoping & Engagement
1. Define project scope, objectives, risks, resource needs and budgets
2. Identify client requirements and produce project plans
3. Support opportunity identification and participate in project sales presentations
Project Management & Delivery
4. Lead complex, cross‑functional project teams
5. Ensure project documentation, governance and sign‑offs
6. Conduct project planning workshops
7. Manage contract administration and client expectations
8. Monitor and control project progress, financials and resource utilisation
9. Provide frequent revenue forecasting
10. Manage cost, schedule and resource variances
11. Trigger invoicing milestones and ensure proof of delivery
Implementation & Monitoring
12. Perform project reviews and status reporting
13. Oversee vendor performance and drive improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
14. Strong knowledge of agile software development and infrastructure project methodologies
15. Advanced cross‑functional leadership capabilities (strategic thinking, communication, adaptability)
16. Ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities and teams
17. Excellent verbal and written communication, including executive‑level reporting
18. Ability to lead change and coach teams
19. Proficiency with MS tools (Teams, Project or equivalent)
20. Experience with project management systems or PSA tools
21. Familiarity with PM standards (PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile, etc.)
Selection Criteria
22. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related field
23. 10+ years of experience managing medium to large complex projects in a Professional Services environment
24. Proven ability to manage project budgets up to €10M
25. Required: Agile delivery experience
26. Strong project management and soft skills (negotiation, facilitation, conflict resolution, executive communication)
27. Experience managing cross‑functional and supervisory teams
28. Preferred: Experience in retail industry (food or non‑food)
29. Preferred: PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification
Languages
30. Native level in Flemish
31. Fluent English
