PpFor the Industrial Performance Department, we are now looking for an Industrial Safety Sustainability Director, to be based either in Visé, Belgium or St‑Helens, UK and reporting to the Group Industrial Performance Director. /p pAs Industrial Safety Sustainability Director, you would be providing functional Health, Safety, Environment and Energy (HSEE) leadership and deploying the sustainability targets for our manufacturing sites and support to the Industrial Performance organization. /p pYou would be developing, improving, promoting, coordinating, facilitating, standardising, and implementing the Sustainability strategy and the HSEE requirements in particular in the area of Performance Improvement for our manufacturing sites. /p pYou would facilitate the sharing of best practices, challenge the Manufacturing teams to achieve their sustainability targets based on an agreed roadmap plan, and provide a direct (and indirect) contribution to the sustainability of the business. /p h3Can you say ‘yes’?… /h3 ul liDo you have a strong interest in safety topics? /li liCan you show strong experience in Health, Safety, Environment and Energy (HSEE) /li /ul h3What you’ll be doing: /h3 ul liDeploy sustainability roadmap and monitor progress, challenge and improve /li liTechnical Leadership of HSEE disciplines /li liOpinion Shaping /li liStakeholder consultation and engagement both internal and external /li liMonthly and annual reporting of performance /li liFunctional Management and Mentorship of the Plant HSEE Teams /li liSupport ISO compliance at Plant and Technical Team Level /li liIdentification and implementation of HSEE performance measurement and improvement tools /li liParticipate and guide the plant during the group insurance audit /li liCoach and train each HSEE manager at plant level /li liParticipate on fire and safety investigation, RCA and standardise/deploy the action plans /li liEnsure continuous improvement on energy efficiency with standard deployment /li liWaste: participate in working groups and the circular economy team to propose solution to reduce our waste to landfill /li liProvide machine and equipment expertise in term of people safety for new capacity, greenfield projects and acquisitions /li /ul pExpected business travels will be up to 60% of the time to visit our manufacturing plants based in EMEA APAC in order to execute responsibilities in the most pragmatic way. /p h3What we’d love for you to have: /h3 ul liMaster degree or Postgraduate Qualification in a sustainability related discipline such as the Professional Diploma in Safety, Health and Environmental Management or equivalent /li liConfederation of Fire Protection Association Europe (CFPA) Fire Risk Assessment Fire Safety Management / Principles of Fire Safety at Work Certificate /li liMinimum 5 years’ experience in a HSEE role at a senior level within the heavy industry (metallurgy, glass chemical), running 24/7 /li liExperience at a senior level of the management and implementation of health, safety, environment (including waste), and energy (including decarbonisation) - HSEE compliance and improvement initiatives. /li liKnowledge of legislative frameworks within HSEE ul liEU Waste Directive Framework, the circular economy /li liEU Industrial Emissions Directive Framework, Best available Techniques and the allied BREFs /li liEU Occupational Safety and Health Directive Framework /li liEU Energy Efficiency Directive /li /ul /li liExperience of communication and liaison with regulatory authorities /li liWorking knowledge of both Civil and Criminal Law /li liWorking knowledge of insurance and experience of working with Insurance companies and managing corporate liability /li liFamiliarity with the requirements of the ISO Standards relating to HSEE /li liExperience of HSEE Leadership in Manufacturing and Construction (including deconstruction) /li liAwareness and qualifications in Fibres Occupational Hygiene Risks /li liAwareness of strategies to manage exposure to rising energy costs including water management, renewable energy, and energy legislation. /li liExperience in managing Site transport safety risks /li liAbility to engage and communicate with and influence all levels within the organisation /li liTeam player with high degree of stakeholder focus (listening and questioning) /li liAnalytical skills including Incident investigation and problem solving /li liRisk Assessment methods and application of methods appropriate /li liPragmatic and solutions oriented /li liComputer literate on MS Office and Email /li liFluency in English (French, German is a plus) /li /ul h3We will provide: /h3 pAs this is a central, international position, the package and associated benefits will be those of the contract's host country.
