The company is a leading European developer and manufacturer of high-quality
and environmentally responsible chemicals for the fire safety industry, both passive
(fire-resistant) and active (fire-extinguishing).
ROLE PURPOSE
Define the product roadmap, and long-term strategy based on global market research, customer feedback, and business objectives.
Work closely with sales, marketing, innovation, customer support as key actor in the stage gate product development process, with key focus on product launch
Ensure the products meet customers' needs
Position their value proposition with relevant market players, including customers, customers of our customers, industry experts, associations etc
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Holistic understanding of market dynamics in the markets we serve, not only in Europe, North America and Asia
Own the full product lifecycle of each product within the product portfolio (idea initiation, development, launch, modification, phase out)
Act as the interface between innovation, production and sales. Work closely with sales to develop the technical aspects of the value proposition through detailed understanding of our customer's applications and manufacturing processes
Support codes, standards, approvals and certifications, so all product lines are properly covered and information flows efficiently
Own and manage pricing strategy of the full portfolio.
Management of the product lifecycle including SKU complexity reduction and making proposals for next generations products
Capture product specific knowledge and ensure proper document management, including all technical product datasheets and product training presentations
Assist sales with competitive analysis. Document and maintain the competitive landscape (competitors, competitor products and applications, pricing, etc.)
Support sales managers in the sales processes with state-of-the art sales & marketing materials, including presentations, case studies, white papers, product brochures, photo or video material, etc....
Give presentations at conferences, trade fairs, and universities as subject matter expert.
Write articles for magazines. Take an active role in industry associations where relevant.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Masters' degree in marketing / economics, or equivalent by experience
Can do mentality to build a professional B2B marketing function
A minimum of 5-7 years experience in a Product Management role
Affinity with technical products and willingness to learn
Strong communication skills
Fluent in English both written and verbal.
