Job Description
You provide expert legal advice and support across all areas of our client's operations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
You draft, review and negotiate complex contracts and agreements with partners, suppliers and stakeholders.
You manage and analyse legal risks related to corporate governance, regulatory compliance, projects and strategic initiatives and operational activities.
You handle dispute resolution and litigation matters, coordinating with external counsel when necessary.
You handle the legal aspects of annual accounts, Board of Directors and Shareholders topics.
You proactively monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting the company and advise management on implications, creating a legal watch actionable by your colleagues.
You act as a legal risk gatekeeper, engaging directly with C‑level executives to challenge, shape and clear strategic decisions from a legal and regulatory standpoint.
You collaborate closely with internal departments (Finance, Operations, Compliance) to ensure legal alignment in projects and initiatives.
You maintain accurate and timely documentation of all legal files in the central system and ensure proper reporting to management.
The Successful Applicant
Master's degree in Law; specialisation in corporate, commercial, financial or competition law is a plus.
Minimum 7 to 10 years of relevant experience (law firm and/or in‑house), ideally within financial services, payments, regulated industries, or multi‑site operations/real estate.
Excellent knowledge of Belgian law and good command of EU regulations; litigation/dispute experience is an asset.
Fluent in Dutch and English with strong French (spoken).
Strong analytical skills; able to translate complex legal topics into clear, actionable guidance for C‑level.
High integrity, sound judgement and resilience; comfortable prioritising and delivering under time pressure.
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills; collaborative mindset with the ability to influence cross‑functionally.
Comfortable working autonomously while fostering teamwork in a fast‑moving environment.
Able to deal with several law firms at the same time and drive them to achieve results.
Able to represent the company with all legal aspects.
