Automation Engineer (OT / SCADA) Location: West Flanders, Belgium (Hybrid)
The Opportunity: We are partnering with an innovative, internationally active manufacturing organisation undergoing a major digital transformation across its production environments.
As an Automation Engineer, you will play a key role within a central OT team, driving the development and optimisation of scalable industrial systems across multiple sites. This position offers a strong blend of hands-on engineering, system design, and cross-site collaboration.
What You’ll Be Doing: Design, develop, and maintain industrial automation and SCADA solutions across production sites Support digitalisation initiatives, transforming operational data into actionable insights Work on data collection, datalogging, and system integration projects (e.g. MES, reporting tools) Configure, install, and optimise automation systems in line with group standards Monitor system performance and drive continuous improvements Collaborate with internal teams and external integrators on project delivery Contribute to standardisation and scalable solution design across multiple locations
Tech Environment: SCADA / HMI platforms PLC programming (Siemens or similar) Industrial communication protocols (e.g. OPC) Data logging / Historian systems SQL and industrial data environments Exposure to MES and system integration
What We’re Looking For: Experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or OT environments Strong knowledge of PLCs and SCADA systems Understanding of industrial networks and data flows Hands-on, problem-solving mindset with a pragmatic approach Comfortable working in a multi-site, international environment Degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
