Job Description
As the HR Director for Canon Benelux, you will act as a trusted strategic partner to the business, shaping a people and organisation strategy that directly enables sustainable, profitable growth. You will work proactively with senior leaders to ensure our structure, capability, and culture are fit for the future—agile, high‑performing, and aligned to business priorities.
You will lead the design and delivery of local HR policies and practices, ensuring they are fully aligned with the wider EMEA HR strategy while remaining compliant with local labour legislations. By balancing strategic insight with operational excellence, you will create a consistent, legally robust, and employee‑centric approach that drives both performance and engagement.
Responsibilities
Translating EMEA HR strategic and tactical business plans into local cluster HR strategic and operational plans
Directing the development of initiatives and activities for local organisations for the next topics
Resourcing and staffing, including active promotion of our Employee Value Proposition

HR processes, policies and contracts – ensuring the cluster organization has a robust HR framework to support the needs of the changing organization & comply with all the required governance & compliance requirements on a local and a European level

Culture, DE&I, employee engagement, employee experience and well‑being
Management and development of the local cluster HR team, including own self‑development, ensuring we are continuously growing the expertise and skills to meet the needs of the business and to address the future workforce requirements.
Management and governance of cluster HR budget and cluster labour & headcount budget ensuring we exercise strong cost control and management of new investments which supports the overall business plan.
Ensure controls and governance are in place to manage sox compliance, audits and data privacy requirements
HR lead for local Works Councils, Unions & employee representative bodies ensuring compliance with local regulations in line with business needs in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg
Active participation in the EMEA HR Community and involvement in EMEA HR projects/initiatives.
Promote Canon Brand by participating in networking events, public speaking requests and membership of relevant forums/communities.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of HR processes and best practices in a senior HR role in at least Belgium and/or Netherlands
Proven track record for building strong professional relationships and credibility across all levels of the organization
Very good understanding and interest in current talent management practices
A passion for people development and organisational health
Track record of successfully facilitating transformation programmes through strong facilitation and negotiation skills and labour relations experience
Strong facilitation and negotiation skills
Strong communication skills, including presentation skills
Bilingual (Dutch and French) and English
Relevant educational background
Commercial mindset and an ability to understand the wider business requirements and develop the HR function accordingly
Willing to travel between the countries with at least 2 days per week away from the home country
