We currently have a vacancy for a Data Scientist fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert based in Brussels, Belgium. The successful candidate will be integrated into the company team and will closely cooperate with a major client's IT team on site.
Your Tasks:
1. Collect business requirements and develop advanced data mining solutions or identify, assess, and deploy relevant existing data mining, machine learning, and business intelligence solutions;
2. Design presentation interfaces with optimal usability and user experience;
3. Develop and maintain software applications in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), and/or Artificial Intelligence (AI);
4. Identify, collect, convert, and update different data types/sets across various locations (e.g., ETL);
5. Create data models based on specific problem statements;
6. Scripting and programming;
7. Contribute to the design and implementation of the analytics architecture and its solution stack, including performance, physical design, and capacity planning;
8. Write documentation related to tasks and liaise with other project teams to address cross-project interdependencies.
Requirements
1. University degree in IT or a relevant discipline, with a minimum of 17 years of relevant IT experience;
2. At least 5 years of experience in Python, NLP, and Machine Learning;
3. Expertise in ETL processes and tools (e.g., Talend Open Studio);
4. Proficiency in Perl, Matlab, R, and NLP/ML libraries such as SpaCy, NLTK, scikit-learn, pandas;
5. Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms (k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, Neural Networks, AI frameworks);
6. Expertise in Data Management;
7. Experience with continuous code delivery and unit testing;
8. Knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms;
9. Familiarity with Linux, Unix, and Bash scripting;
10. Understanding of NLP systems lifecycle and agile development methodologies;
11. Knowledge of quality assurance for machine translation, including metrics like BLEU scores and human evaluation;
12. Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, SAS, SAP, GoodData;
13. Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Hadoop, etc.);
14. Understanding of data visualization tools like D3.js, GGplot;
15. Familiarity with Big Data technologies and data mining systems;
16. Specialization in predictive, prescriptive analytics, sentiment analysis, social media processing, or related areas;
17. Excellent command of English and good understanding of French.
