As a Legal Counsel for the stabilized logistics portfolio in Belgium and The Netherlands your primary objective is to manage, in consultation with the other legal counsels, all legal issues relating to Goodman's stabilized assets in Belgium and the Netherlands
More concretely, this means you will get the opportunity to:
* Negotiate, draft and review lease agreements and related amendments and security package, as well as lease related correspondence
* Negotiate, draft and review contracts relating to renewable energy and other energy related projects (EPC contracts, framework agreements, PPA's, EVCI, BESS,...) and advise on matters relating thereto
* Advise on and manage legal issues related to asset management with a focus on compliance with contracts, applicable law, regulations and Goodman standards.
* Ensuring the coordination of legal disputes and/or litigation.
* Full ownership and maintenance of your countries legal templates in line with agreed templates at CE level (e.g. lease agreements, GC contracts, framework agreements…) used as a starting base for negotiations
* Flag deviations from Goodman standards in the quality assurance and corporate governance process.
* Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, case law, and industry trends impacting the company, and proactively advise the organisation on potential legal risks and opportunities;
* Ensure compliance with the company's policies, standards and values. Train and educate the Belgian team on relevant legal and compliance matters, and foster a culture of legal awareness and compliance;
* Practice \"preventive law\" by training and educating colleagues on general legal matters.
* Selecting, involving and liaising with 3rd party legal advisors in an effective way.
* Prepare relevant reporting for General Counsel CE and proactively participate in legal practice group.
Do you recognize yourself?
* Fully Belgian or Dutch - qualified lawyer
* Excellent knowledge of contract law and energy law with a strong interest in a broad spectrum of relevant regulatory changes
* At least 5 years of proven experience as a legal counsel or a similar role in a company or law firm
* Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills;
* Ability to handle most legal matters independently
* Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel with a strong eye for meeting deadlines;
* High ethical standards and professionalism living Goodman's values of innovation, determination, integrity and sustainability by example;
* Perfect knowledge of Dutch and English, both written and spoken;
* Profound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Copilot) Critical and challenging mindset
