Team Description
Your team and your responsibilities
Fast-track Accessory Design team within Value Chain Division is responsible for development of various utility/functional accessories. In close cooperation with other involved departments and multiple global suppliers, the team ensures accessories are developed according to Toyota's strict quality requirements within schedule and cost targets.
Your Responsibilities
Feasibility studies
Perform technical feasibility studies and deliver proof of concept to bring real innovation to the future range of accessories.
Development of accessories
Development of accessories according Toyota technical- & quality standards on-time for new model launches. This activity is done in close cooperation with local suppliers, several related divisions in Toyota Motor Europe, mother divisions in Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) and other regional Toyota Accessory Development Bases.
Project Management
Lead the full development process of accessories to achieve on time introduction within budget target & technical requirements. Controlling & supporting suppliers to meet development milestones.
Lead Design Reviews
Lead the Design Reviews with suppliers (DRBFM & FMEA) and internal experts from involved departments to assure accessories meet all technical specifications and safety & quality standards (Build-in quality).
Lead Quality improvements
Take pro-active actions for quality improvement during development & mass production phases.
Implement cost reductions
Investigate & implement cost reductions, as well as styling and function improvements (Kaizen).
Coordinate product evaluation
Coordinate with suppliers & Toyota evaluation group to ensure material & performance requirements are validated, using in-house and external test facilities.
Regulatory Compliance to ECE/EC standards
Confirm parts are fully compliant to all applicable ECE/EC standards and input technical data into various Homologation databases (GRIS & GCIS).
Your Profile
A degree in Mechanical- or Automotive Engineering (Master degree is an asset)
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Good knowledge of automotive parts design and production
Experience in technical Project Management
Experience of Test & evaluation Engineering
Good knowledge of (D-) FMEA
Good knowledge and experience with CATIA v5
Passion for cars and automotive technology
